708 Jane St -Update from Frances Nunziata
From the Office of Frances Nunziata…
I am writing to update you on the appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) for the request by the owner of 708 Jane Street to convert the main floor to residential uses.
I have been notified by the OMB that this hearing has been scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:00 am. A community meeting is being scheduled to take place in July with the City Solicitor who will be representing us at the OMB. As soon as the meeting date is confirmed my office will be sending out notices to area residents.
Since the application was refused at the Committee of Adjustment, area residents have reported that construction is progressing at 708 Jane Street, as well as concerns regarding insufficient fire exits.
The Toronto Buildings Division is actively investigating the work at 708 Jane Street. Fire Services has conducted a partial inspection of the premises but will be conducting a full inspection in the near future to ascertain compliance with the Fire Code. Upon receipt of these inspections my office will be in touch with you to inform you of the findings.
If you have any concerns in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me.
