~ a growing and changing community
RSCA had a great time meeting the community on July 9th at Topham Pond for the Party by the Pond Fishing Derby. Hundred of neighbours came out to enjoy the great demonstrations, natural surroundings, food and festivities, including our fresh watermelon and juice and T-shirt painting. We also displayed our original fishing derby t-shirts, designed by summer student Sidra Mahmood.
We collaborated with Mount Dennis Community Association to set up shop with numerous other groups and agencies (see link for all groups MD post). At our booth, kids enjoyed designing their own t-shirts (generously donated by our partner, Jane Alliance Neighbourhood Services) while parents filled out our resident surveys of local priorities for city investment – please contact us for yours at email@example.com. They also learned more about our association and its latest initiatives (please see below for details).
Thank you to everyone who participated in our survey and t-shirt painting booth, and those who donated. Also, thank you to the Mount Dennis Community Association for hosting us! We hope to return next year!
